CARGOTRACK / Terrestrial Fleets Management

ESPRIT Project 8487 OMI/CARGOTRACK had as objective the implementation of a management system for pan-European fleets oriented to the European truck transportation industries. The responsibility of INESC/INOV consisted n the design of a flexible communications controller that could be applied to any fleet management system. Being an OMI (Open Microprocessor Initiative) initiative, the controller has integrated the ARM60 RISC microcontroller. The partners of INESC in this project were PDV (consulting), Kuhne&Nagel (truck transportation company), BIBA (research institute), PAN DRIVE (vehicle control) and TECMIC (design and development of integrated circuits).
