The Project OPERA (Open PLC European Research Alliance) of the IST (Information Society Technologies) Programme (a part of the 6th EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development) started in January 2004 and lasted for 36 months. The main objective of the Project was to define, implement and test technologies and services based on communications using the electrical power distribution (PLC). The role of INOV was to develop services of PLC video surveillance and e-health.
