PASC was a project devoted to collecting
a database of voice of more than 500 persons in a car environment,
for use in various car gadgets such as radio, CD players,
window controls, etc. The information collected covered 6
kinds of cars and 4 different regions of Portugal (Lisbon,
Porto, Évora, and Viseu).
Numerous
samples included open/closed car windows, radio turned on/off,
roads in good/bad condition, dry/wet roadway, as well as young/elderly
and men/women speakers.
Each speaker read more than 200 samples consisted of various
combinations of commands, phrases, isolated words (such as
yes/no), numbers, letters, etc.
