The project COOPERS (Co-operative Intelligent Networks for Road Safety) is an IP (Integrated Project) of the European Commission.

Its main objective is to develop, implement and demonstrate cooperative systems for making traffic safer, more predictable and controllable with respect to driver's behaviour. To achieve this goal, the cooperative system to be developed uses communication and information technologies to provide an infrastructure and tactical traffic-control centres as well as to interact with vehicles.
