The Consortium TecnoVoz was founded aiming to create a national technology cluster able to industrialise, at high technological level, novel systems of speech recognition and synthesis. Simultaneously, the Consortium has an objective of assertion Portugal in being an important active player in the area speech technology development and defend its priority in application of Portuguese Language.

TecnoVoz assume the responsibility of creating a Body of Knowledge on the technologies of speech, particularly focusing on the Portuguese Language utilities, which are instantly embodied in a number of applications passing to the market products. Afterwards this substantial technology basis enables the national industry to hold and accompany the world leadership in innovation in these areas.
