Integration of Bluetooth communications on the basis of TETRA network (in consortium with Bithium and INESC R&D).
The objective of this project was to provide the consortium with the skills needed to enter into the market of Bluetooth products. It was planned to develop basic components of an infrastructure that provides low-cost connections between portable systems and link them to a mobile network. It was thus developed a laboratory prototype, which demonstrated the voice (earpiece and microphone) and data (PDA) transmission via TETRA network. With minimal adaptation, the components developed can be used in many other applications.
