This project is (supported by the Permanent Forestry Fund - FFP) is focused on the development of techniques for remote monitoring of vital status of the forest canopy, especially in connection to the consequences of fires. The developed methods are based on the analysis of the fluorescence emitted by the leaves under excitement by intense laser radiation, using a special LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) system.
