The project, co-funded by
the Innovation Agency (Agência de Inovação),
is devoted to developing equipment for early detection of
breast cancer. The main purpose is to design and construct
a high resolution (1 mm) PET (Positron Emission Tomography)
setup that enables the breast cancer tissues to be detected
at the very early stage of their development. Apart from INOV,
the consortium comprises of the following entities: Society
TagusParque, LIP, INEGI, IBEB, IBILI and Hospital Garcia Orta.
INESC-ID Lisbon also collaborates in this project.
