The project AIRNET (Airport Surveillance Network for Mobiles and Alerting) of IST (Information Society Technologies) Programme (a part of the 6th EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development), started in January 2004 and lasts for 36 months, with the objective to set, implement and test a system for vehicle tracking and monitoring at airports, including video-surveillance in wireless networks. The role of INOV is to develop a wireless network to support the services of finding vehicles and airport telesurveillance.
