Project ESPRIT aimed to develop a fleet management system for vehicles supporting the network of electrical energy distribution. In this project INESC/INOV, in colaboration with EDP (Energias de Portugal, formerly known as Electricidade de Portugal, the major electricity operator in the country) and other national companies, has developed a prototype of a monitoring system for the EDP service fleet, using its private VHF radio network. The partners of this project were EDP, EDINFOR, EFACEC, IST, INTERG and CNIG.
