This project, supported by Fundo Florestal Permanente (FFP, Permanent Forest Fund), aimed at the scaling development, installation and operation of a system for forest video surveillance in Western Portugal. An addition objective was to gain, hiring of a team of "advanced observers", a profound and continuously updated knowledge about the locality in order to carry out prevention and forest-fire protection measures appropriate to the existing environment.
