| We are proud
to pioneer, in 1988, within the framework of the MONICAP™
project, a pilot installation of the first satellite tracking
complex using Global Positioning System (GPS) and INMARSAT-C
Satellite Communications, which enabled the vessel position,
speed and course to be sent to a terrestrial control centre.
Since that time, the team of INOV engineers has been updating
and maintaining the MONICAP™ system for Fishery Fleet
Management (VMS, Vessel Monitoring System), expanding the
portfolio of corresponding products and services.
The MONICAP™ system, in the form of VMS or FMC (Fisheries
Monitoring Centre), is currently installed in about 800 fishing
vessels operating under control of Portugal, Spain, France,
Ireland and Angola.
INOV also developed products in the area of Terrestrial Fleet
Management (XTraN ™) adapted for local, regional and
transnational applications. This competitive cost-effective
system uses GSM, Tetra or INMARSAT-C communications system.
In the area of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA),
INOV provides the SEASAT™ and SIMORE™ systems.
The experience gained by INOV in the area results in many
significant achievements, the most important being the development
of the satellite transmitter prototype INMARSAT-M and participation
in several European projects in the fields of VTS (Vessel
Traffic Services), VTMIS (Vessel Traffic Management Information
System) and VTMS (Vessel Traffic Management System), such
as VASME, MOVIT and DISC II.
