In recent years INOV developed a strategic partnership with ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal SA. and participated, within the Strategic Area in question, in national and international projects. Corresponding know-how covers various technologies, especially:

- RFID, in accordance with ICAO recommendations

As a result of this partnership, INOV has developed airport monitoring and management solutions in accordance with international recommendations for this area.

SAFEGROUND, a system of control and management of vehicles on airport zones, is a low-cost system of A-SMGCS (Advanced-Surface Movement Guidance and Control System) type, which helps manage and track all the airport vehicles (service, catering, luggage, fuel, maintenance, firemen, police, customs inspection) in coordination with the aircraft monitoring, implementing the recommendations of ICAO and Eurocontrol for such systems (geographic information according to WGS84 and thematic map stratification in line with the ED-119 / EUROCAE-Common Database for Standard Interchange terrain, and Obstacle Aerodrome Mapping Data-based in ISO 19100). The system is targeting airfields, small and medium-sized airports and can be used as a complementary system in large airports.

SAFEGROUND permit to improve the safety conditions in all areas of the airport, providing essential and accurate information (e.g., positioning and identification of vehicles in real time) and can help to improve the airport efficiency, providing services for:

- Control (detection of conflicts and intrusions);
- Monitoring the Quality of Service;
- Decision Support in real time, with an opportunity to analyse the information off line.

Inventory is a system based on GIS and RFID that can manage, record, identify and report the location of different items (furniture, equipment, fire extinguishers, etc.) in the airport premises. Registering and mapping of the item location can be made semi-automatic mode.
 

Safety/Dísticos, a system based on GIS and RFID, which identifies persons and vehicles in the outdoor areas of the airport, is complementary to the Inventory solution. It allows simple and quick identification, registry consulting and real-time check whether the object position is in accordance with the airport regulations.

SGM Persons and Goods, a system based on GIS and RFID, enable one to monitor and locate in real time persons and luggage in order to facilitate the surveillance and luggage tracking and guarantee, where possible, that the passenger accompanies his/her luggage when he/she leaves the airport. Moreover, this system allows, in an efficient manner, to manage the luggage carts at airports as well as to provide monitoring of the service quality to the handling companies at the airport.
