When addressed, the subject software quality can have several
meanings. You may state, for example, that the quality of
a particular application means the absence of crashes. In
other cases it may mean the correlation between the application
in question and the client's or user's expectations. Quality
can also mean the implementation of compliance with the
established requirements (assuming that the requirements
are correctly specified). A general definition of quality
can be formulated as the degree of application compliance
with the pertinent requirements, both specified and implicit.
In the area of Software Quality Assurance the INOV offer
focuses on the sub-areas of Configuration Management (CM)
and Software Testing. In relation to CM, the INOV offer
includes definition and documentation of the CM processes,
tool installation and adaptation as well as tool & process
specific training of the CM team. In the sub-area of testing,
INOV participation can vary from planning to automate testing,
passing to the test implementation.
In the area of CM the INOV offer is especially directed
to public or private entities that use a considerable set
of IT applications, where the installed version control
is crucial to ensure that the maintenance teams may, at
any time, have access the latest versions of production
applications and to all kind of existing information about
them, which includes manuals, procedures, contacts, etc.
In the area of testing INOV may act as an independent partner
that ensures that the delivery of a particular system is
in line with the specifications, both technical and functional.
